NYS Senator Joe Robach has suggested that New York State suspend gas taxes from Memorial Day to Labor Day in order to give drivers relief at the pump. A similar plan was introduced by Senator and presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain for federal gas taxes If enacted drivers would save about 33-cents a gallon at the pump for NYS taxes. John McCain’s plan would add another 18.4 cents per gallon in savings if it were enacted.
